David Filler

The Modular Sofa

Designed and built by Los Angeles-based architect David Filler, the modular sofa is a study in clean lines, materials, and texture.  Made with Baltic Birch plywood, the modules can be arranged to form a sofa, a love seat, or a sectional.  The back cushions are composed of down and feathers while the seat cushions are composed of down and foam, all upholstered in 100% poly corduroy, making it optimal for durability.  Finished with brass legs, the sofa mimics the minimalist principles of artist Donald Judd and the modernist approach of architect Carlo Scarpa, two of Filler’s greatest influences.  The modular sofa is made to order.
