KNEELAND CO. TEXTILE & CRAFT AMBASSADOR
Kneeland Co. collaborates with design-led brands, cultural institutions, and retail partners to shape creative direction through textile expertise, material storytelling, and imagery. Projects are developed in response to the vision and strategic objectives of each client, drawing together historical knowledge, craftsmanship, and visual references to inform collections, campaigns, exhibitions, concepts, and broader initiatives.
Rooted in beauty, provenance, emotion, and narrative, Kneeland Co.’s approach is cultivated through Founder Joanna Williams’s curatorial expertise and deep fluency across textiles, fashion, interiors, art and design, color, history, and contemporary culture. She acts as a Textile & Craft Ambassador — helping communicate the artistic, cultural, and human value of materials to curious audiences.
Central to the practice is a globally recognized Vintage Textile Archive developed over the past sixteen years through the acquisition and cataloging of rare textiles. Complementing the Archive is a broader collection of books, magazines, paper goods, and ephemera assembled through more than three decades of ongoing research and collecting, as well as an online store featuring exquisite finds, art, and objects. Together, these resources serve as both an inspiration source and product development tool, supporting creative teams internationally and informing best-selling collections, brand collaborations, and influential design work.
Kneeland Co. acts as a trusted partner for brands and organizations seeking a more intentional connection to craft, artistry, and legacy within an increasingly accelerated digital landscape - led by a commitment to the hand, the heart, and the human-made.
Joanna Williams has been featured in publications such as T Magazine, Architectural Digest, Cabana Magazine, Elle Decor, and WSJ. Her most recent project included a curated shop and installation at the Dallas Contemporary Museum featuring established and emerging artists and designers. Through the Kneeland Co. Textile Archive she has developed an international client list that includes Dries Van Noten, Ulla Johnson, Pierre Frey, Isabel Marant, Sister Parish, Oscar de la Renta, Nike, Apple, Ralph Lauren, Erdem, Tesla, and more.
