These exquisite ceramics are made in the state of Michoacán, Mexico, where expert craftsmen and women extract clay from the earth that is then carried by burro to the town of San José de Gracia. The clay is then sculpted to create these works of art in the form of candelabras and piñas. There are only a few families making these glazed ceramics, as they continue the traditions of Michoacán, making it a vital center of craft in Mexico.
