Kneeland Co. is pleased to present a collection of ceramics by Los Angeles-based artist Chelsea Beck. Inspired by expressive, utilitarian forms, familial memories, and the tension between opposing forces, Chelsea creates ceramic vessels and pitchers that burst with energy and color. Each piece reflects her intuitive approach to clay—where tradition meets experimentation, and function dances with imagination. The artist was born in Providence, RI in 1980 and studied art at Bard College with visual artist Amy Sillman and artist Judy Pfaff, the latter of who is known as the pioneer of installation art. She then went on to receive her MFA in sculpture at Yale School of Art under Jessica Stockholder, and attended Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. Cheslea works from her home studio in Pasadena, California. This collection was made exclusively for Kneeland Co.
