Marni Market

Marni has always been one of my favorite fashion brands.  The changing of the guard from Marni’s founder, Consuelo Castiglioni, to the new creative director Francesco Risso has proven to be a good choice as the brand has remained consistent in its ability to create happy, optimistic clothing for women who aren’t afraid to express themselves.  In the current over-saturated fashion market, I’ve come to be attracted to brands who are doing more than making clothes and who are diversifying their brand to create a world that is their own.  Marni has always been at the forefront of this, developing online magazines and capsule collections as well as creating environments with artful arrangements of product.  One concept that was launched on their website is Marni Market  an edited selection of home goods and accessories for sale that exude the Marni vibe perfectly.  Floral covered fabric vases, colorful sculptures, picnic baskets, woven stools and more are all available for purchase at reasonable price points, adding further to the alluring world of Marni.  At the top of my wish list: a metal fish sculpture and a woven striped basket.
