Jean Baptiste Pillement Botanical Print No. 1
This collection of Jean-Baptiste Pillement prints date back to the 18th c. and feature his illustrations of romantic, otherworldly florals. This particular print mentions his wife, Anne Allen, an engraver of his illustrations. Pillement was a designer, illustrator, interior decorator, and printmaker known for his Rococo and chinoiserie style. He was a court painter to Marie Antoinette at Versailles, and interior decorator for the King of Poland. Jean-Baptiste Pillement’s designs were often used on wallpaper, textiles, porcelain and silver.
